Typically combined are Isotrol Primer, Isoguard Pansar, Isotrol Finish or Isotrol Primer, Isoguard Pansar, Isoguard Aluminium.
-
Highly wetting and surface tolerant oil alkyd paint with unique properties enabling the system to be applied on rusty surfaces. High viscosity and penetrating abilities make this primer fill out pores, cracks and crevices in earlier paint layers, in the rust or in the construction of the object, like rivets, joints or weldings. Creates an ideal surface for top coats.
-
For intermediary- or top coats creating a highly water proof surface and with good mechanical wear resistance. Iron oxide and rust protecting pigmented for an highly protective coating.
-
Color retentive gloss top coat. Can be tinted to most color refraction systems, NCS, RAL etc.
-
The toughest top coat for our alkyd system. Aluminium and iron oxide pigmented to create an ever stronger top coat than with Isoguard Pansar. The added aluminium reflects UV-light which break apart the molecules of the paint.
The ideal solution for complex metal constructions.
Application workflow:
The surface is primed with Isotrol Primer until the surface is saturated and a thin glossy layer is visible. Continuous applications of intermediary- and top coats are done to reach the chosen total coat thickness. For basic treatments 1-2 coats are applied while tougher environments require more coats. As a rule more or thicker coats give a longer lasting times span for the system. Read our technical data sheets and system specifications for more explicit information.
Examples of usage:
When applied to newly constructed or clean metal surfaces Isoguard Pansar is used as primer.Through the surface tolerant Isotrol Primer perfect results are reached even when the surface can’t be sand blasted or ground or brushed to conventional degree of pre-treatment cleanliness (Sa2 or similar). Only a water blasting treatment with a min. pressure of 70 Mpa, or steel brushing to St2. Manual washing by hand is usable for minor objects or private customers.
The simple pre-treatment often makes the Isotrol Alkyd system the most cost effective alternative when compared to the price of competitors system solution. Savings with the Isotrol system has been shown to be up to 33% of the total cost when compared to a system requiring sand blasting!
If the surface to be treated has zinc details or areas a special primer Isobet is used in combination with the above described paints.
For strongest possible protection if the top coat color or aesthetics is irrelevant Isoguard Aluminum is used as top coat.
